The Future Emerging Technologies group of DG CNCT of the European Commission is an innovation funding agency. For them, it is of high importance to be able to detect the emerging technological concepts.
In order to help them to do so, we have designed and developed a weak-signals analyzer that predicts the most promising research areas from scientific publications.

Opscidia was the winner in the OpenAIRE open call for innovation.

OpenAIRE is a European association for the promotion of open science. They are well-known for the large database of open publications that they seek to exploit.
An adaptation of our core-technology with a Named entity recognition layer has been developed to help detect and visualize the most important concepts from their corpus.

A “science checker” against fake news

with the Vietsch Foundation

The Vietsch Foundation is dedicated for the Promotion of Internet Technologies. They support Opscidia to build a platform to use open access scientific literature to fight fake news. A layer that summarizes the scientific consensus on health issues has been developed. On top of our technology, it allows to verify whether a statement is aligned with the scientific consensus.

A Biology explorer

for INRAE

Bibliome Lab, directed by Claire Nedellec, is a top international research team that develops methods of acquiring and annotating knowledge expressed in natural language in Biology and plant science. They have built Florilege, a very large database on microorganisms (and their habitat, phenotype and use).
Opscidia has developed a vizualisation tool that allows the detection of microorganisms living in the same spaces (for example, cheese) or with similar properties (for example, pathogen) based on the Florilege database.
